The Chenalhó Indians bring their firstfruit offerings when they harvest their first crops. A firstfruits offering is just that: It’s the first and best offering you can give to the Lord.
God gave his firstfruits- For God So loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish but have everlasting life – John 3:16.
Jesus gave His life for us. He gave His very best.
In Deuteronomy 26:10 we’re encouraged to worship the Lord with our firstfruits.
“and now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land which you, O Lord, have given me.’ Then you shall set it before the Lord your God, and worship before the Lord your God”
Worship implies giving. Every year I give my first income check to the Lord. It’s the firstfruits of my finances. Firstfruits is more than just money…

The Greatest Firstfruits Offering He Will Ever Make
As I finished delivering a message in Chenalhó. This family came up front to give their firstfruits offering. It was a bag of green beans. They asked me to pray for God to bless them and their crops. As I looked at the husband and father of 5 children God revealed to me that this man had a better offering to give to the Lord..
“Are you far away from God?” I asked.
His wife began to weep. “Yes,” he exclaimed. “I once had a relationship with Christ but I drifted away and became an alcoholic and mistreated my family”.
I asked for his very best, “Today you can give the Lord a better firstfruits offering than a bag of beans. Would you like to make Jesus Lord of your Life?”
This man began to cry profusely as he asked God for forgiveness and repented of his distant relationship with God.
He then turned to his wife and children and asked them for forgiveness also.
This family experienced more than just a financial blessing. They received new life in Christ.
Firstfruits symbolizes God’s harvest of souls, it illustrates giving to God from a grateful heart, and it sets a pattern of giving back to Him the first (and the best) of what He has given us. We are not under the Old Testament Law so we should give out of love not obligation. Let’s give cheerfully and liberally (2 Corinthians 9:6-7).
God asks us all to give our very best. That is my desire for you. I pray for God to bless you in your relationship with the Lord and with your family. May God Bless your finances. May He give you good health. May he prosper all that you lay your hands to… and may you respond by giving your firstfruits to Him.
