This month Ana, Cristi and I have Will Lane, and David Mathieson visiting us in Tuxtla Gutierrez. We’ve spent most of our time traveling and ministering in some of the churches under our covering in Chiapas Mexico.

We drove 10 hours to get to Benemerito de las Americas with our guest speaker Pastor Michael Lim. The trip was a great success but it wasn’t always glamourous.
We Ate It!

Go and Make Disciples
Pastor Francisco Lopez was doing a question and answer session on the radio. Some people from San Vicente heard him speaking and invited him to do a crusade in their town square. After the evangelistic event the Christians started meeting in a carport and invited us to minister.
So we said, “Hey, why not me?” He said, “GO” last we checked!
And we traveled to San Vicente, Trinitaria. It’s a colder area located in the mountains near some awesome turquoise colored lakes, the Lagos de Montebello.

The result- a new church!
Modern Restrooms?

Spending the night in San Vicente was a great missions experience…
Even though we had a toilet we preferred to just use the area outside of the restroom instead of actually going inside.
I’m thinking I may be turning into a cushy (spoiled) missionary because I opted out of using the restroom or bathing with the water hose.

Mosquito Bites 101
Have you ever tried to sleep with little humming noises all around your ears. Experience tells me that the annoying sound is no where near as bad as the bite. That’s why I want to give you some valuable information that may come in handy, especially if you go on a trip with us…
The house we stayed in gave us a big cover but I found that it didn’t work well when I put it over my head to keep the mosquitos from biting, Then I discovered a curtain had fallen down near my bed. Curtains are thin and work very well as mosquito nets.
Even though you may look funny with a curtain over your head please remember my lesson the next time you want to avoid those blood sucking insects!
Missions is exciting but it isn’t always easy.
Even thought we got very little sleep and are still scratching those itches we were able to be a part of another new church plant. That’s another reason we thank God and you, our partner in ministry. What an honor to serve Christ in a foreign Country.
Current Ministry Projects
Remember, our goal is to make disciples and start new churches. These methods help facilitate that goal.
Radio Station in Benemerito -For less than $10,000 we want to set up a radio station which covers a 75 mile radius and reaches approximately 800,000 people in Mexico and Guatemala. Pastor Francisco will head up the ministry.
Christian School- For years we’ve wondered why Tuxtla Gutierrez has only one small Christian school. We are privileged to be a part of helping to start one. The school is called “Shalom” and the Lugo family, who are part of our ministry are the school founders.
Globe Mexico Missions Agency- This month Brad Thurston visited us with the goal of starting a new agnecy to send out Mexican missionaries to the nations. Unanimous Ministries held it’s first official event and our Pastors were taught how to multiply disciples and Churches.
