Why do you need to partner with us? You may have thought my title would be, “Why we need partners like you.”
That implies you blessing us. We want to add value to your life. We can help each other. Yes, we can help you solve a problem.
The problem is there are people lost and going to hell and God commands all of us to do something about it.
The Church needs to participate in the Great Commission and that’s how we as foreign missionaries can help you.
We will “Go” and you can partner with us to help do the work because yes, we need prayer and finances to fulfill the Great Commission.
As Christians God tells us to be good stewards of our finances. As missionaries, we are responsible for raising funds and administering them with integrity
It’s not just our personal mission. It’s God’s mission.
We can do this together. That’s why you need us and we need partners like you to invest financially.
Please Forgive Us.
Although we’ve been missionaries for over 25 years, it doesn’t mean that we haven’t made mistakes.
I want to ask you to forgive me for making one of the biggest mistakes I’ve made over the years.
I’ve robbed you!
Yes, I’ve sinned against you and I want to make amends by asking you to forgive me. Please allow me to present you with the possibility I should have given you years ago,
You see, I’ve robbed you of the opportunity to be a part of the eternal investments we’ve made.
Let me explain…
Many missionaries actively visit churches and individuals. They share their joys, trials, and accomplishments. Then the give those individuals an opportunity to donate to the ministry they are involved in. They partner and collaborate with many people so they can all share the eternal rewards together. They’ve done well.
Over the years, we’ve failed to ask individuals to partner with us, and we have failed to allow people to be a part of fulfilling God’s mandate to go and preach the Gospel to all the world.
During the past years I’ve avoided asking people to support us as missionaries. I’ve avoided it like a plague.
I preferred to just work in an internet business or for our families company, ENCO dredging.
I had a lot of excuses…
- I can be a tentmaker
- I don’t want to bother people.
- I don’t want to be like the Amway or network marketing person that everyone avoids because they know what’s coming
- People are just too busy
Truth is, I’m as bold as they come as an evangelist. I can walk up to a complete stranger and tell him about Christ. I can even ask for funds for someone else or a project like my child’s Christian school.
But I’m afraid of rejection when it comes to asking for finances to fund our missionary ministry.
I apologize for not allowing you to be a part of the eternal blessing of fulfilling the Great Commission alongside us. Please forgive me for not presenting you with the possibility of being a part of making disciples, raising up leaders, helping the poor and needy, and sharing in our success in Mexico.
Your Opportunity to Fulfill God’s Mandate
You may know that we went through a long adoption process. For 10 years, because our daughter did not have the paperwork to legally cross the U.S. border, I made very few trips to the USA.
For years I would get up at 4:00 in the morning to pray. Before I went out to minister in the day I would dedicate 3 or 4 hours a day towards an internet business. I worked hard to drive traffic to my website which I used to sell ads or affiliate products.
I also worked part-time in our family business.
I made enough money to sustain our family’s needs and at one point actually did quite well.
A few years ago, Google changed its search engine rules and in less than a week traffic to the website was reduced to 14% of what it was previously. My income dramatically decreased.
At the same time one of the few churches that supported us dramatically lowered its support when a new pastor took over. (This happens to a lot of missionaries).
Fortunately, the timing was just right and Cristi received a Visa allowing us to return to the USA.
God brought us back for a reason and we’ve never doubted being in His perfect will.
We worked in our family business for years. It allowed me to make trips back and forth to Mexico and other countries.
For many years now we’ve been praying for our family business to sell because my father is tired and ready to take a much needed rest.
Praise God the company just sold.
That’s good news. The even better news is that I won’t be depending on that income source, I get to give you an opportunity…
Now we’ve come to the place in our ministry where we will be providing you with a chance to be a part of the eternal blessings and rewards I described in this letter.
