I have had a lot of people ask me about how to take a short term missions trip to visit us in Chiapas, Mexico to minister with the Indians.
Here’s a few quick details.
Location: San Crsitobal De las Casas, Chiapas Mexico. You will fly into Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas Mexico
Recent Group Video
Curt Williams has visited several times. Here is a video taken as he brought down a small youth group. They ministered in a remote Idian community and also helped with some building projects:
Ministry opportunities:
We minister with The Tzotzil and Tzeltal Indians who are Mayan descendants. In Addition we have a growing network of Churches with Unanimous Ministries.
Our ministry opportunities are divided up into 5 methods using our PEACE plan:
Planting Churches (to attack spiritual lostness) – Which includes church building projects and all evangelistic outreaches including drama, pantomine, puppets, special music ministry and more.
Equipping Servant leaders (to attack ego-centric leadership) -If you are a Pastor or leader gifted in teaching and preaching we have monthly leadership training, bible schools, countless church and pulpit ministry opportunities and more.
Assisting the Poor (to attack poverty) -Give out food, clothing, shoes, necessities. Provide help projects. We just gave out over 2000 toys to needy children over Christmas.
Care for the sick (to attack disease) -Medical Teams including all specialties such as Dentistry, Vision, hearing, etc. We can purchase medicine at a discount here in Mexico.
Educating the next Generation (to attack illiteracy and minister to children) All types of children s ministry and educational ministries
Cost:
Because of a growing number of groups we have set these simple policies.
Purchase your travel tickets. We provide transportation, dorm rooms and meals at a daily cost of $50 per person per day.
You may also opt to stay in a hotel which is around $45-$75 a night in beautiful San Cristobal de las Casas, Chiapas. Your food and transportation would then cost $30 per person per day.
We would also like to request an offering of any amount that you would like to give to us as missionaries since hosting a group is very time consuming, tiring and expensive for us.
Schedule:
We make our schedules according to how you would like to minister since each group is different. We’ll send you a daily activity calender for you to approve. Because of rain and weather, ministry opportunities and unforeseen circumstances all schedules should be flexible and open to change.
We also like to schedule at least 1 day for sightseeing and shopping since we are located near some of the natural wonders of the world such as “The Canon de Sumidero”, waterfalls, mayan ruins, and historical sights.
