After traveling to some of the churches that we are overseeing I noticed something….
Churches have problems!
Why?
Because they are full of people and people have problems. The bigger the attendance the bigger the problems.
Do you think that you have seen or experienced some problems in your church or in your life?
One Church is nothing compared to overseeing 25 churches and not even speaking their language.
Here’s a few of the ridiculous problems that we’ve seen in some of the Indian Churches lately:
- After one of the Tzeltal Pastors raised up a new church (That’s the idea) his new church leader decided to leave him because he didn’t want any more advice on how to Pastor
- A member of the Tzotzil Church had just donated tin for a roof for their building. He was coerced by another denominational movement of “emotional theology” to join them. When the member left the church, he also took the time to tear down the roof and take it with him.
- A member of the mother church in Chenahlo who showed a lot of potential decided that he wasn’t be moved into a place of leadership quick enough and left…
- One lady in a small village shared a secret with one of her friends and asked her to pray for her but not to tell anyone else about her problem. Her “friend” shared it with and soon the whole village was “praying for her”. The lady was devastated because of the embarrassment and moved to another village.
These are just a few of the problems associated with life and churches.
Your church may not be perfect. I don’t know any that are. But God has placed you there for a reason. Don’t get upset and leave. God may be trying to teach you something and he may be preparing you for ministry.
Remember, If you’re experiencing problems in your church there are always someone else or another church that is experiencing a bigger problem than you are.
We’ve all experienced problems. We are humans. Human beings always experience problems.Churches experience problems because they consist of a lot of human beings.
A Church is an organism, It is alive. Life consists of problems.
Hang in there! God has a plan for your life. Problems are usually a sign that God has something big in store for you!
