The PACE Plan

Planting Acts Churches Everywhere

The PACE Plan is a step by step guide to making disciples who are planting churches who are reaching nations.
It’s a simple church multiplication plan that comes from obeying Christ’s commands to worship God, serve others and teach disciples to obey Christ . We call this ObeyGC²  which stands for “obey the great commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20).”.
Since church planting is so important, I’d love to share with you how we plant and spontaneously multiply churches who reach nations.

PACE Matters - The PACE Plan

The PACE Plan -Pace matters

Pace is speed or tempo. The eternal destiny of eternal souls is determined in time. There are 16,464 people groups. 6,564 of these people (Least Reached People Groups) have not heard the Gospel.

Time is of the essence. We should multiply like rabbits, not elephants. Every soul who enters eternity without Christ is robbing God of receiving the glory He deserves. In the video below Curtis Sergeant explains why pace is so important.

PACE Plan Quick Look

Here’s a short summary of our PACE plan:

–Prayer walk in strategically chosen communities that are ripe for harvest but haven’t yet heard the Gospel

–Find persons of peace, in those areas, and begin Biblically based small group training centers (simple churches) in their home.

-Make disciples and baptize them as soon as possible.

-Teach disciples to be obedient to Christ’s commands to love God and serve others.

-Hold the new disciples accountable to train more disciples who multiply disciples by immediately going and sharing their story and the story of Christ with their families and friends.

PACE Plan In the Bible

Here are some of the verses we use to form the PACE plan.

“And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying,“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always,even to the end of the age.” Amen. Matthew 28:18-20

5 But whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house.’ Luke 10:1-11

How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house. Acts 20:20

PACE PLAN– Plant Acts Churches Everywhere

PACE matters. In order for God to be worshiped by more people and communities we must Plant Acts Churches Everywhere as quickly as possible.

Here’s our 4 phase plan:

PRAYPerson of Peace

Plant seeds as you begin to prayer walk and find persons of peace in strategically chosen communities that are ripe for harvest but haven’t yet heard the Gospel.

  • Prayer- Ask God where he wants you to go and what he wants you to do.
  • Persons of Peace- Ask God to lead you to an individual he has already started working in by creating a spiritual hunger. They are usually people of influence.
  • Pray with this person using Luke 10 principles  -Share about God, pray for miracles
  • Ask this question,  “If God were to work a miracle in your life today, what would it be and could I pray with you for that?”

ACT

ACT like Acts disciples

Begin to mentor the person of peace on the condition he shares everything you teach him with someone else.

  • Share your story (Testimony), then have him share his story
  • Tell God’s story  (Gospel), then have him do the same.
  • Invite your new disciple to participate in a biblically based discovery (GC²  or 3/3rd s) group in his home along with his family and friends and teach them to do likewise.

What to do in the group (3/3rds):

1/3rd of your time:

  • care & pray for people’s needs
  • share a meal
  • check up by asking “How have you obeyed what you’ve learned?”
  • cast vision- encourage everyone to take what they’ve learned and with others.

2/3rd of your time:

Read a Bible story and ask the people to re-share the story in their own words

Discuss the story by asking 4 questions:

  1. What does this story tell us about God?
  2. What does this story tell us about people?
  3. What does this story tell us we ought to do? (how can I obey this scripture?)
  4. Who am I going to tell what I’ve learned?

3/3rd of your time:

  • Hold your new disciple and every believer accountable to obey God by sharing what they have been taught with more family and friends.
  • Pray for God to give disciples strength to be obedient to their commitments and to prepare the hearts of people who will be hearing about Jesus

COACH

Coach the simple Church

Have your person of peace/disciple facilitate as all believers participate in the simple church.

  • Each week the group reads a new Bible story and asks the same four questions
  • Even before they call themselves believers they are beginning to obey God because they are asking the questions, “What does this story tell us we ought to do?

Within a few weeks, step away, then encourage your spiritual son to teach the group to continue learning from the Bible by asking the question, “how am I going to obey God?”

EXPAND

–Expand Everywhere as new disciples are obedient to Christ by training more obedient disciples to multiply disciples who multiply churches

  • All disciples are taught to meet new people and start a new group
  • Because they are naturally sharing with others what they’re learning, their friends and family become intrigued and want to know more, soon a new group is formed.
  • Before long these groups become home fellowships or churches.
  • Check in from time to time to see how they’re doing

Now repeat the PACE plan as you go and make more disciples who plant more churches.
