This week we’v
e been busy at the headquarters of Misión Global in Mexico.
Sending out missionaries from a Country that was on the receiving end of missions is not easy, but we’re determined not to give up.
Last week I talked about what to do when things don’t happen on our timetable. As we are diligent in our daily work I’m reminded of Gal 6;
Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Choosing To Obey God By Doing The Word
Be doers of the Word, and not hearers only. James 1:22
Yesterday Ana, Cristi, Josh Britnell and I were torn between doing two different activities:
- Attending a missions conference for pastors and leaders of Tuxtla Gutierrez.
- Taking a group of Canadians visiting my friend Michael Lim to the local market to share our testimonies, pray for the sick and passing out gospel booklets.
It was a hard choice because our “ministry” is a missionary agency. This was a special missions conference and we were sure to learn more.
We decided to leave Josh at the missions conference while my family and I went to the market.
While there, we met a lady who could not walk because of pain in her legs. I prayed for her by simply saying,
“pain in the legs, be gone in Jesus name”….
God healed her as the pain left her legs and she stood up to walk!
Sharing Christ
As Ana shared her faith with the lady in this photo and gave her a new testament….
To my utter amazement, I looked behind her and saw Josh,
“How did you get here and why didn’t you stay in the meeting?” I asked.
He calmly replied,
“I walked (several blocks) from the conference to the market because you guys were doing a better thing. And besides, the sound was bad and I was having trouble understanding what they were saying”
So it turns out we all made the BETTER Choice.
What would Jesus do?
You’re right. He would do what he’s always done…
Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people (Matt 9:35)
That’s why we chose to go to the market.
To do what Jesus did. To do the Word, not simply be a hearer.
We are all tired of people who have a lot of knowledge about the Word of God but don’t actually practice their faith by being obedient to God.
I pray our experience helps you to choose God’s very best as you follow Christ daily.
Please pray for as we minister in an orphanage today, then tonight at 5:00 pm as our disciple making group goes back to a park to share Christ.
Next week please pray for my family who will stay here in Mexico as I make a short trip to the USA for a one week training school for Globe international missionary candidates.
P.S. I am on a mission to go and make disciples all over the world and need committed Christians like you to resource and equip. We’re constantly trying to get more people on our mailing list so we can reach more people. Do you know someone who would benefit from my letters. If so, please share this Message.
