It was january of 2009 when we had to put our loyal and best friend Chu-cho to sleep because he had cancer.
Cristi, who was 9 at the time was devastated. She wanted to throw herself out the 3rd story window of our apartment in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico as she watched us drive away to put him to sleep. Our golden retriever had been with us for 12 years and “putting him down”was one of the hardest things I had to do in my life.
As I watched him go to sleep and stop breathing I cried. Burying our loyal friend was just as hard.
After we got over the death of Chu-cho I promised to buy Cristi another Golden retriever.
Cristi’s 11th birthday was Sept 19th, 2011 and I made a special trip to the USA to purchase a Golden Retriever puppy.
After investigating I finally found a full pedigree golden retriever puppy .
I bit the bullet and spent well over a thousand dollars for our new family member.
I had always wanted a son named Joshua and we instantly registered him under that name.
Joshua was just 8 weeks hold when I put him in a carrier that fit under the airplane seat on my way back to Mexico.
Joshua grew to 85 pounds and when we moved back to the USA to get Cristi’s citizenship in 2011 we had to purchase a special ticket to ship him back with us.
Joshua has been our best friend and family member for over 7 years now.
Now It’s time to leave our family
It’s so sad to leave a family member.
In December 2017 our family returned to live in Mexico
That’s why we gave Joshua to my sister. It’s sad leaving him but obedience to God’s calling is our first priority. We know he’s in good hands and will get lots of attention with Byron and Susan.
But aside from leaving our dog behind we are doing something just as difficult; Leaving our family and friends. It’s especially hard to leave our father and mother. They are getting older and I enjoy spending time with them.
We are comforted by Mark 10:29 (NCV) where Jesus said
Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, all those who have left houses, brothers, sisters, mother, father, children, or farms for me and for the Good News will get more than they left.¨ Read the entire NKJV scripture below this article
We’re not sure what the future holds or how long we’ll be in Mexico but we are confident of this,
Being an obedient Christ follower isn’t always easy, but it is very rewarding!
Why we’re returning to Mexico
We’re going because we desire to be obedient to God.
We also feel that Mision Global, the Globe Mexico missionary sending agency will benefit from us being there.. I have very good relationships with a large network of churches and pastors. We want to encourage them all to partner with our Missions agency as we continue training, sending and serving missionaries.
We’ll also continue to concentrate on multiplying disciples, planting new churches and reaching nations.
Our 16 year daughter , Cristi will be home schooled and be very involved with the young people and ministering in song and worship.
We’ll also miss seeing you, our friends from the USA.
It’s difficult to leave our good friends but we want to encourage you to stay up to date with what we’re doing.

Leaving Everything to Follow Christ.
I leave you with these verses in Mark 10. You may never physically go to another Country to follow Christ but that’s what he called us to do. He may just be calling you to send us, and if He is,
