A Word of Appreciation to You, our Church planting partner…
This is Pastor Juan Vasquez, our leader from Tzomjok, Chiapas, Mexico.
Tzomjok, Cancuc, Chiapas is one of our new church plants with the Tzental Indians.
A person with the title “Apostle” offered Pastor Juan money to leave our covering… and he went.
He promised to help Juan put the floor on a church that we had already helped him build. It’s amazing how for a few pesos you can buy a church group.
The word “Apostle has been abused in Chiapas. These “great men” use it to proclaim their power and even to proselyte others. They love for people to address them by the title “Apostle” before saying their name.
You and I both know that great men in God’s eyes are usually never recognized by titles and they almost never ask to be acknowledged. They give God the Glory.
Although Pastor Juan was led astray for a while, the good news is that it didn’t take him long to realize that he’d been fed a line of shallow promises. This bad experience caused our discouraged Indian leader to attend one of our recent meetings where He asked for forgiveness for leaving our church covering.
We were so glad this prodigal son came back . We even gave him a soccer ball along with toys for all the kids in his group because we cherish our Pastors so much.
On a side note… if you look closely at Pastor Juan’s ear. The top part is bitten off.
Before he was saved he got drunk with one of his friends. His former friend bit his ear off but later repented. (It wasn’t Mike Tyson)
Of course he was unable to replace his ear but God did use this incident to get this man’s attention.
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Rom 10:17.).. Even if you’ve lost part of your ear.
The disciples came to Jesus and asked him “Who is the greatest in the Kingdom of God?” Matthew 18:1. They even fought over this in Mark 9:33-35
We’re Grateful For You
Would you please allow us to discretely say how grateful we are to God for you.
You’re great! (to us and more importantly… to God)
Yes we know that you would never call yourself “Great” or even “an apostle”. You may never actually go to the mission field, but your prayers and donations help us to win souls and disciple them for Christ.
Because of you, these recently discipled Christians are filling up new church buildings in remote regions of Mexico.
That’s why we cherish you. Without you, your prayers, and your faithful financial support, we would not be able to raise up these Indigenous Churches like that of Pastor Juan Vasquez
Thank you so much!
Our Family along the family members of the new Churches in Mexico really do appreciate you!
