How hard would it be to make a difference in just one life?
During the month of April I’ve had the honor of teaching disciple multiplication courses in Globe’s Perspectives on the World Christian Movements classes and in Globe’s International’s annual missionary conference.

The following story reminds me of a great first step to making disciples. Download our April 2016 Newsletter

It had been raining for days and when it finally let up my daughter Cristi, and I decided to take a father- daughter hiking trip at Blackwater River State Park in Florida.
Since there was a lot of previous flooding we discovered that the Bear Lake dam had been running over.
There was still a small stream spilling over one end of the dam. To our amazement there were thousands of small fishes flopping around hopelessly in the overflowing waterway.
Cristi ran ahead of me and exclaimed,
“The water is drying up, the fish are dying!”
I replied,
“Yes but there are too many of them, we can’t do anything about it.”

Immediately Cristi reached down and grabbed one flopping fish in her hand. Then she carried it to the deep water on the other side of the dam.

“There, I saved it!” she exclaimed
She was right; To that fish she was able to make a difference!
As a father, that’s how I feel. I’m able to make a difference in on child’s life. That’s the importance of being a mentor.
Mentor Someone
You can also make a difference in the world by reaching just one person.
Besides fathering my daughter, one of my favorite means of making disciples is through spiritual fathering or mentorship. Coaching a “person of peace” who has a spiritual hunger or who God may be able to use influence many other people is literally life changing.
Perhaps you could make a difference in at least one person’s life. I pray God leads you to that person to spiritually father today. That’s disciple-making 101.
Fishers of men
Jesus told his disciples, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” As fishers of men, our goal is to reach people who could possibly die and spend eternity in hell because they’ve never heard the message of salvation.
In May, we will travel to Southeast Asia to invest in the lives of missionaries and unreached people groups. Then our family will be traveling back to Chiapas Mexico for the summer to concentrate on sending out Mexican missionaries who will make a difference in the World.
Thank you for praying for us and supporting us financially. Your partnership is making a difference, one life at a time.
