Alfredo is from Chenalho, Chiapas Mexico and he has beautiful feet. I consider him a spiritual son because he really desires to make disciples among his Indian community and often comes to me for advice since I’ve been mentoring him for many years.
He was really excited about announcing a new church plant that he was personally involved in and so I promised to visit the new believers.
The only problem was the new church was located in a very remote area. This wasn’t my first journey into remote areas but because I know how much this means to Alfredo and the new group of disciples I made plans to make the trip…
After ministering together until midnight in Comitan, Jake, a very tall young man from England decided to make the long trip with me. It was 4:30 a.m when we left our hotel in San Cristobal for the one hour trip to Chenalho.

We rented a nissan pickup truck and packed it out with some of Alfredo’s youth who also wanted to make the trip. The 2 1/2 hour trip on really rough roads was very taxing on the vehicle and it finally just stopped. The driver jumped out and wiggled some wires. After waiting on the truck to cool off, he started it up and drove it a few more miles. We repeated the sequence several times and finally arrived at Saclum.

There a small group of Indian leaders met us and we began the final leg of our trip, a one hour hike to the village.
Upon arriving, everyone in the village readily greeted us. They even wrote a commemorative plaque on the wall of their building…
They were especially interested in Jake, the tall white gringo, since they had never seen anyone like him before.

They killed a few chickens and served us a meal. Jake shared a testimony and I taught about how new disciples should make more disciples. After praying for the needs of the new family of believers we blessed the new disciples and leaders asking God to multiply the group.
It was a really successful day. During our long journey back home though the mountains Alfredo was full of joy as we saw the fruit of his accomplishments.
What if nobody would have went or been sent?
Would these new disciples have received the good news of salvation?
Fortunately, as long as we have partners like you who send us, Alfredo and I will continue to go and make disciples.
Because of YOU … Alfredo has beautiful feet
How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written:
“How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace,
Who bring glad tidings of good things!” Romans 10:14-15
Today Alfredo and I’s feet literally did do some walking in order to preach the gospel.
You are the reason Alfredo has beautiful feet!
Because you are obedient to Christ’s commands, you make a difference.
Thank you for sending Alfredo, Thank you for sending me.
