God has qualified you to help guide others to Christ. You may not feel ready, but if you belong to Jesus, you are not alone. The Holy Spirit is with you, your story matters, and God can use you to help others follow Him.

Today I want to share part 3 from our disciple-making series, How To Make Disciples.
In the last lessons, we considered who to reach and identified the main reason we fail to share our faith.
Christ’s Command in Matthew 28:18-20
Jesus said, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations… teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Christ commanded us to go, make disciples, and teach people to obey Him. But He did not send us alone. He promised to be with us always.
Guide Dogs
Guide dogs are trained to help blind or visually impaired people navigate obstacles and move safely in the right direction.
In a spiritual sense, Scripture says that people without Christ are blinded to the light of the Gospel. Second Corinthians 4:4 says that “the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving” so they cannot see the glory of Christ.
But Jesus tells His followers, “You are the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14). God calls His people out of darkness and then sends them back into the world to point others to His marvelous light.
God Chose You to Proclaim His Marvelous Light
First Peter 2:9-10 says:
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; who once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
God wants to use you to lovingly guide spiritually blind people toward Christ. You are not the Savior, but you can point people to the One who saves.
You Are God’s Qualified Vessel to Make Disciples
The good news is that God has equipped ordinary believers to guide others toward Jesus.
Here are 3 reasons God has qualified you to help guide your lost friends to Christ.
1. The Holy Spirit Is Your Guide
Jesus commanded us to make disciples and teach others to obey Him. Then He immediately gave this promise: “I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
When you became a follower of Christ, the Holy Spirit came to dwell within you. You do not guide others in your own strength. You guide others because God Himself is with you.
Jesus said:
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” — John 14:26
You have the power to be Christ’s witness because the Holy Spirit empowers you. Jesus promised, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses…” (Acts 1:8).
The Guide
In lesson one, who to minister to, I showed you a video of Katniss Everdeen in The Hunger Games. She is portrayed as a hero. But look at this clip:
In this video from the Hunger Games, Haymitch Abernathy is the guide.
He even advised Katniss.
“Get Them To Like You”
We are not the heroes. We guide people to Christ. And we do that because we have a guide within us, the Holy Spirit.
2. You Can Empathize with Lost People
First Peter 2:10 says:
You once were not a people but are now the people of God, who had not obtained mercy but now have obtained mercy.
You were once lost, but now you have received mercy.
God can use you because you know what it is like to need grace. You know what it is like to be spiritually blind, empty, searching, or unsure of your purpose. You can speak with compassion because you have also needed mercy.
Galatians 4:8-9 says that there was a time when we did not know God, but now we have come to know God—or rather, to be known by God.
And 1 Corinthians 1:26-29 reminds us that God often chooses ordinary, weak, and unlikely people so that no one can boast before Him.
That means you do not have to be impressive to be useful. You simply need to be faithful, available, and dependent on the Lord.
3. You Have a Unique Personal Story
You are God’s own special person. He has chosen you to proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
One of the best ways to begin guiding people toward Christ is by sharing your own story.
You have a unique testimony of how God rescued you. No one else has your story. Of all the Christians in the world, your story of salvation is personal, specific, and powerful.
You may not know every answer. You may not feel like an expert. But you do know what Jesus has done in your life.
In my next lesson, you’ll discover how to use your story to begin to make disciples.
You Are Qualified Because God Is With You
You have the Holy Spirit to guide you as you guide others to Christ. You were once lost and now you are found, so you can identify with lost people. And you have a unique story of God’s grace that no one else can tell exactly like you can.
You may not feel fully prepared—and that’s okay. You do not need to have it all together to begin sharing Christ. The Holy Spirit is with you, your story matters, and God delights in using ordinary people for eternal impact.
Since God has qualified and equipped you, will you begin to share Christ with others today?
